Afam II Project Reverse Power Transmission Successfully Completed

        At 14:00 on May 16, 2025, good news came from the Afam II power plant project site - with the successful completion of the reverse power transmission operation instruction, the plant power system successfully received power for the first time, the transformer operated stably, and the parameter indicators were excellent, marking the successful reverse power transmission of the project, providing key guarantees for the subsequent dynamic commissioning and grid-connected power generation of the units.

High standards are promoted to ensure that the reverse power transmission is foolproof. To ensure the safety of operation, the project team, together with the power grid company, the commissioning unit and the equipment manufacturer, completed the system acceptance, relay protection verification and multiple rounds of simulation operation drills in advance to comprehensively investigate hidden dangers. During the reverse power transmission process, personnel at all levels strictly followed the standardized operating procedures and completed the power receiving task in one go in 2 hours. The main transformer impact closing and busbar charging were all successful at one time. The system voltage, phase, polarity and other parameters all met the design requirements. The Afam II project units and transformers have been placed for more than 10 years without being used. The success of the one-time reverse power transmission gave the on-site staff great confidence and encouragement.

Multi-party collaboration to overcome difficulties. Project manager Wang Muxiang said that in the face of challenges such as tight construction period and complex technology, the team successfully reached the reverse power transmission node by optimizing construction logic and working in shifts 24 hours a day. At the same time, multiple parties conducted joint inspections before reverse power transmission to eliminate the defects of reverse power transmission and ensure the safety and stability of reverse power transmission. The power grid dispatching department provided technical support throughout the process, and the equipment supplier provided on-site support, achieving seamless connection from the power grid side to the plant power system. The successful power reception verified the reliability and installation quality of the power plant's electrical system and created the necessary conditions for subsequent subsystem commissioning.

The Afam II project will effectively alleviate the regional power consumption pressure and optimize the energy structure. In the next step, the project will accelerate the key processes such as unit ignition blowpipe and complete start-up to ensure that the grid-connected power generation target is achieved as scheduled, injecting green kinetic energy into the high-quality development of the local economy and society.
